Ah there is a hope that Microsoft Internet explorer may save the day! I’ve been told that If you type something that looks like a hostname name, e.g. www.classic_detail.co.uk, into the IE address bar which subsequently doesn’t resolve to a valid host, it will automatically feed the address into the MSN search engine and hopefully should come up with the valid URL classic_detail.co.uk in the results.
Now the only thing is to get the valid domain name into the search engine in the first place.
Hmmm, how to do that? 🙂

Where’re the cartoon Mike gone?
I know it doesn’t work at the moment, but I’m hoping that in the next couple of days it will find it’s way into at least some of the search engines.

I’ve grown to really like the colours too!
My little Stortrooper has retired for the moment. I could only have him visible in the header in IE 5 if it was transparent. That didn’t work with the new colours so…
He may re-appear one day 🙂
C’mon mike, I’ve just visited classic-detail.co.uk – is this one of yours? What’s all that javascript stuff before the <html> tag? This code has never seen a validator. This isn’t like you Mike, pull your finger out!
Unfortunately we were persuaded to implement html output caching. Which means we have to do the dynamic stuff with javascript, which means we have to output the vars before the cached html 🙁

Ew! That’s an excuse which is indicative of a bad design! Also, wasn’t the client aware that by using JavaScript, they’re ignoring 10% of their visitors? Oh, and it’s broken in Opera anyway – I know, ‘coz I was pretty disappointed when the Underwear link didn’t work 😉 Tee hee!
