Avril Lavigne – Let Go

I’m listening to Let Go by Avril Lavigne at the moment. I really like it. I didn’t expect that I would, but I’d gotten used to the two recent singles; ‘Complicated’ and ‘Sk8er Boi’ and thought I would give it a listen. It’s not what I expected. There is quite a bit more depth to the album than is indicated by the singles. There are a couple of strong rock-pop tracks, and a couple of ballads on there. She also has a good voice. I don’t know whether she could carry off the slower tracks, which stretch her vocals a little, live, but the album is pretty good.

  1. I realised Avril as a talen as soon as I heard ‘Complicated’. I am not at all a punk/rock fan, but I felt compelled to buy the album, so I did. In my opinion it is the best album of 2002. Good review.

  3. Sorry about revisiting this old post but I have to say that after the release of her third album it appears miss Lavigne can carry the slower tunes as noted above.

Her song “Innocence” off the her album “The Best Damm Thing” is specatular and features her with an orchestra backing her vocals and she pulls it off quite well.

  4. That would be sweet to go see Avril Lavigne in concert in Beijing China. Her tour date says it’s October 6th. After watching the olympics, I really want to visit Beijing now.
